An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join our Catering team on a permanent part-time contract. North Tees and Hartlepool Solutions is seeking to appoint an honest, enthusiastic, hardworking, and committed individual who can work effectively both in a team and independently. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and organisational skills, be self-motivated, and able to work flexibly without direct supervision. The applicant will assist in providing a comprehensive and cost-effective catering service that meets the needs of patients, staff, and visitors, fulfilling the objectives of the Trust. This is a demanding but rewarding role.

Main duties of the job

1. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in designated work areas according to documented cleaning schedules, as well as performing ad hoc duties as requested by your duty supervisor.
2. Maintaining high standards of hygiene for kitchen and personal cleanliness.
3. Processing utensils and crockery using mechanical dishwashers.
4. Operating heavy-duty floor cleaning equipment.
5. Preparing and cooking basic food items such as hot sandwiches, hot snacks, and chips in a food-safe manner.
6. Recording food temperatures accurately.
7. Recording fridge and freezer temperatures.
8. Monitoring fridges and chilled units to ensure food is within use-by dates.
9. Reporting faults, accidents, and adverse incidents promptly.
10. Serving food to customers courteously.
11. Replenishing and merchandising all food display units and maintaining appropriate records.
12. Demonstrating excellent customer care skills, courtesy, and politeness at all times.
13. Adhering strictly to all Trust policies and procedures.
