University Hospitals Dorset is recruiting a friendly Catering Assistant for Poole Hospital to support the catering team and provide great service in our busy restaurants and coffee bars. You will serve food and drink, operate a till, restock supplies and help with cleaning duties in a fast-paced environment.

This full-time role includes evening, weekend and bank holiday shifts, with weekend enhancements. Previous barista training is welcome and interview is scheduled for 17 November 2026.

Job overview

University Hospitals Dorset is seeking a friendly hardworking, reliable person to support the Catering team to provide great customer service in our busy restaurants and coffee bars. Duties include serving food and drink, working in a Barista style coffee bar , operating a till, refilling of stock and general cleaning duties.

This position would suit someone who has had prior Barista training from a fast paced operation.

Main duties of the job

As a member of the catering team, you'll be responsible for providing an efficient, high-quality service to staff, patients and visitors, operating in compliance with corporate and local policies and procedures.

UHD are investing, developing and transforming Trust services in line with the New Hospital Programme. As part of this, some services may move site this year or next, either temporarily or permanently. Recruiting Managers will be happy to answer any service-specific questions at interview.
