Job summary

Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in East Grinstead invites applications for a Catering Assistant. Working mainly in the kitchen, you will assist with the preparation and service of food, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety in line with NHS guidelines to support great patient care.

You will provide food service to patients, staff and visitors, help with snacks and salads, and assist with stock replenishment and basic kitchen cleaning.

Qualifications

• Experience in food service and kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

• Undertake food service to patients, staff and visitors.
• Ensure presentation, portion control, temperature control and food quality standards are adhered to.
• Carry out preparation of snacks and salads to the required standards and any other food items required for sale.
• Undertake cleaning of floors, surfaces and equipment within the kitchen and dining area as appropriate.
• Replenish stock items in the restaurant/kitchen from catering stores and assist with basic stock management.
