Qualifications

• Demonstrable knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices (or willingness to obtain Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2)
• Previous experience in a catering, hospitality, or food service environment (desirable)
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent people skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards
• Reliable and punctual with flexibility to work varied shift patterns, including weekends and evenings
• Basic communication skills and ability to follow instructions clearly
• Knowledge of dietary requirements and allergen awareness (desirable)
• Experience with food service equipment and kitchen operations (desirable)

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and presentation of food items in accordance with recipes and food safety standards
• Support the setup and breakdown of catering events, including arranging tables, chairs, and service equipment
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and food preparation areas, adhering to strict hygiene protocols
• Assist with the serving of food and beverages to guests, ensuring a professional and courteous service
• Help with stock management, including receiving, storing, and rotating food items appropriately
• Wash, clean, and sterilise kitchen equipment and utensils to the required standards
• Support senior catering staff with general duties as required, demonstrating flexibility and willingness to learn
• Respond promptly to requests from team members and contribute to a positive working environment
• Comply with all food safety regulations and organisational policies at all times
