Job summary

Leicestershire County Council in Nuneaton invites applications for a Catering Assistant at Tithe Barn. You will help prepare, cook and serve food, keep areas clean and hygienic and work as part of a team to deliver high‑quality catering for visitors.

The role is 16 hours a week, on a rota including weekends and bank holidays, with a permanent contract and a salary of £25,629 per annum pro rata for part‑time hours. Training and progression opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and knowledge of Food Safety/Health and Safety.
• Previous food preparation experience.
• Willingness to undertake training as required.
• Good rapport with customers.
• Ability to lift and handle kitchen equipment.
• Flexible approach to working, including out-of-hours.
• Must communicate with staff, customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Support preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverages.
• Keep service areas clean and hygienic to high standards.
• Work as part of a team to deliver excellent catering services.
• Present catering facilities to the highest standard.
• Follow food safety and health & safety requirements.
• Be flexible with working patterns, including weekends and bank holidays.
