Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a dedicated Catering Assistant to join our team at a busy community facility. You will assist with the preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverages, ensuring a friendly, clean and welcoming experience for customers and visitors.

You will work as part of a team, maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety, and be flexible to cover weekends and public holidays as required.

Qualifications

• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and knowledge of Food Safety/Health & Safety.
• Previous food preparation experience.
• Willingness to undertake training as required.
• Good rapport with customers.
• Ability to lift and handle kitchen equipment.
• Flexible approach to working, including out-of-hours.
• Able to communicate with staff, customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverages.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

• Ensure catering facilities are presented to the highest standard.
