Job summary

City of Peterborough Academy invites a Catering Assistant (Fixed Term) to join the catering team. You will prepare and serve meals and deliver a friendly, efficient service to staff and pupils, under the guidance of the Chef Manager.

Demonstrated knowledge of HACCP, health and safety, and excellent communication are essential. Level 2 Food Safety and NVQ Level 2 in Catering are required or in progress.

Qualifications

• HACCP and health & safety knowledge required in catering.
• Experience in education environment is desirable.
• Good organisational ability and strong hygiene practices expected.
• Excellent communication with staff and pupils.

Job description

We are looking for a Catering Assistant (Fixed Term) to join our team here at City of Peterborough Academy!

The successful applicant will provide support to the Chef Manager, ensuring that all catering services are of the highest possible standard. You will be required to prepare and serve meals and provide a friendly and efficient service to all staff and pupils.

Working as part of a dedicated team, providing catering services to pupils, you will need to demonstrate:

• Working knowledge of HACCP, and Health and Safety in a Catering environment.
• Experience of working within an education environment, though this is not essential.
• Good organisational ability.
• Excellent hygiene and health & safety practices.
• First class communication skills
• Experience in preparing and serving food.

The successful candidate will hold:

• Level 2 Food Safety Certificate.
• NVQ Level 2 in Catering and Hospitality or be willing to work towards this.
