Job summary

OCS in the United Kingdom is seeking a part-time General Assistant to support kitchen operations. The role runs Monday to Thursday 3pm–7pm with potential Friday cover.

You will work closely with Chefs to prepare sandwiches and salads and ensure a smooth service at events. Responsibilities include food preparation, maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen and equipment, receiving deliveries, and serving customers according to the menu.

Qualifications

• Commercial kitchen experience preferred.
• Basic Catering and Hospitality certificate desired, but not essential as training is provided.
• Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Help with food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, trimming, and making sandwiches and salads
• Be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area and equipment, including utensils, tableware, and catering stations
• Assist with receiving and unpacking all deliveries, ensuring that the food and supply storage areas are organised
• Serve food items to customers in accordance with the menu prepared by the Chefs; may act as host/waiter at events
