Wilson Vale is recruiting for a Catering Assistant at a friendly independent school in York (YO24 4DD). This part-time role covers 12 hours per week, 11am to 2pm, during term-time.

You'll support daily lunch service for pupils up to 300, including nursery, ensuring meals are served efficiently to a high standard while maintaining cleanliness and food hygiene throughout the day in a busy team of around 10. We are currently recruiting for a Catering Assistant to join our team at one of our independent schools in York YO24 4DD.

This is a part time role working 12 hours per week, 11am to 2pm, between Monday and Friday during term-time.

Wilson Vale is an established, quality-led contract caterer. We work with amazing clients across the UK who place huge value on great food as a key part of their culture and community. We work in office restaurants, independent schools and at conference venues with the same high-end ethos throughout.

We're looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team, supporting our daily lunch service for up to 300 pupils, including up to 50 nursery children. You'll help ensure lunch is served efficiently and to a high standard, providing a welcoming and friendly service.

The role will also involve keeping the kitchen and dining areas clean, tidy and organised, washing up, and maintaining excellent food hygiene and safety standards throughout the day. If you enjoy working as part of a busy team and take pride in keeping things running smoothly, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities and Requirements

• + Have experience working in a similar role and environment
• + Be highly organised and comfortable working in a high-pressured environment
• + Ensure you have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety
• + Keep up standards of hygiene and ensure all areas are clean and tidy
• + Have excellent customer service and social skills
• + Be responsible for the preparation and serving of food
• + Have a can do attitude and will work well as part of a team of 10
• + Be customer focused
• + Have basic food knowledge
• + Be willing to participate and enjoy working part of the team
