Job description

Contract: Part Time, Permanent
Salary: £12.21 per hour
Hours: 26.25 per week

A leading independent private school in Wokingham, Berkshire, for girls and boys aged 3-16, catering for 850 students and teachers daily. We offer lunch, morning and afternoon snacks, and some hospitality services. This is a term-time only contract working 34 weeks a year, Monday to Friday, from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm. Additional overtime is available for hospitality and functions. Free on-site parking is an additional benefit.

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Catering Assistant to join our friendly team at our prestigious contract in Wokingham.

Role responsibilities:

• Serve clients during lunch and hospitality services.
• Assist in setting up the dining and meeting rooms for service.
• Prepare food following hygiene and safety standards.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen as per standards.
• Clear and store food, beverages, and equipment after functions.
• Restock supplies to ensure smooth service.
• Operate cleaning and dishwashing equipment properly.
• Perform cleaning and hygiene duties.
• Interact professionally with customers and staff.

General responsibilities:

• Adhere to policies, procedures, and legislation to promote professionalism.
• Wear a clean, neat uniform at all times.
• Conduct food temperature checks and other safety checks.
• Follow reasonable requests from management.
• Report hazards related to health and safety.
