Job summary

Extend Learning Academies Network (ELAN) is seeking a reliable catering assistant to help provide nutritious school meals and maintain high cleanliness and safety standards in our school kitchens. You will support meal preparation, serving, stock control and a welcoming lunchtime environment for pupils.

The role offers term-time working patterns, friendly team support, ongoing training and opportunities to contribute to children’s wellbeing and education.

Qualifications

• Interest in school catering, kitchen assistant, food service or hospitality roles.
• Willingness to work in a busy school kitchen environment.
• Ability to follow food safety and hygiene standards.

• Preparing and serving hot and cold school meals
• Supporting the day-to-day operation of the school kitchen
• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, health and safety, and allergen compliance
• Cleaning kitchen equipment, food preparation areas and dining spaces
• Assisting with stock control and kitchen organisation
• Encouraging healthy eating and providing excellent customer service to pupils
