Job summary

The Grove is a 30-bed care home in Ystradgynlais, near Swansea. Shaw Healthcare invites you to join as a Catering Assistant to support meal preparation and keep the kitchen clean, hygienic and safe. You will work as part of a friendly catering team within a compassionate local care setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering or kitchen support is desirable.
• Ability to follow food hygiene, health and safety procedures.
• Capable of working as part of a supportive catering team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and serve hot meals, sandwiches, and light refreshments.
• Keep kitchen areas clean and hygienic and manage waste safely.
• Clean equipment and preparation surfaces and follow company procedures.

Working alongside our Chef, you'll help prepare nutritious meals that bring comfort and enjoyment to our residents. You'll also help keep the kitchen running smoothly, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene and safety. What You'll Be Doing

• Assisting with food preparation.
• Preparing hot meals, sandwiches and light refreshments when required.
• Keeping the kitchen clean and hygienic.
• Cleaning food preparation areas and kitchen equipment.
• Clearing tea trolleys where applicable.
• Managing kitchen waste and maintaining a safe working environment.
• Following food hygiene, Health & Safety and company procedures.
• Working as part of a supportive and friendly catering team.
