Job summary

Shaw Healthcare is seeking a kitchen assistant at Maes y Wennol care home in Llanidloes, Wales. You will help prepare nutritious meals, support a clean and safe kitchen, and work as part of a friendly catering team to deliver high-quality food for residents.

Salary is £13.45 per hour on a bank contract (as/when required), with weekend shifts included. The role offers on-site work in a purpose-built home that cares for residents living with dementia.

Qualifications

• Experience in food preparation is preferred.
• Ability to prepare hot meals, sandwiches and light snacks.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safety procedures.
• Ability to work as part of a catering team.

Working alongside our Chef, you'll help prepare nutritious meals that bring comfort and enjoyment to our residents. You'll also help keep the kitchen running smoothly, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene and safety. What You'll Be Doing

• Assisting with food preparation.
• Preparing hot meals, sandwiches and light refreshments when required.
• Keeping the kitchen clean and hygienic.
• Cleaning food preparation areas and kitchen equipment.
• Clearing tea trolleys where applicable.
• Managing kitchen waste and maintaining a safe working environment.
• Following food hygiene, Health & Safety and company procedures.
• Working as part of a supportive and friendly catering team.
