Job summary

Mariposa & Papillon Care is hiring a Catering Assistant to support the kitchen team at The Old Prebendal House. You will assist with food preparation, storage, and meeting dietary needs while upholding strict hygiene standards.

Experience in a care home kitchen is preferred, but we welcome candidates with relevant cooking/meal preparation experience in other settings and a willingness to train. Competitive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Good English and numeracy skills required.
• Experience in or willingness to work in a care home kitchen preferred.
• Food hygiene and catering qualifications or willingness to undertake training.

Responsibilities

• Support the Chef with food preparation and storage.
• Ensure dietary requirements are met where necessary.
• Maintain records and uphold high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Job description

Hourly rate: £12.71 per hour

Location: The Old Prebendal House

Qualifications Required: Ideally, you will have food hygiene certificate and a Level 2 catering qualification or equivalent (or a commitment to undertake further training and development, relevant to the role)

Mariposa Care has an opportunity available for a Catering Assistant to join the kitchen team in our friendly care home, The Old Prebendal House. We’re on the lookout for someone to support the Chef with food preparation and storage, ensuring different dietary requirements are met where necessary, assist in maintaining accurate records and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Ideally, you will have worked in a care home kitchen before but if you haven’t, you’ll still have experience of preparing and serving creative, high quality and nutritious meals in a commercial environment.
