Job summary

Berkeley Scott is seeking Catering Assistants to join its Sheffield pool, providing support across schools, care homes, and events. Duties include basic food prep, serving, and maintaining clean kitchens and dining areas, with flexible daytime, evening or term-time shifts and weekly pay.

Immediate starts are available across the city. Pay varies by placement and experience, with a supportive agency team backing you.

Qualifications

• Prev experience as Catering Assistant, Kitchen Assistant or Food Service Assistant.
• Food Safety and Allergen qualifications, or willingness to complete Enhanced DBS with child barring, or willingness to obtain for school roles.
• Strong communication, customer service and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Supporting Chefs, Catering Managers and kitchen teams.
• Preparing and serving hot and cold food.
• Serving pupils, residents, customers and guests.
• Assisting with events, functions and hospitality services.
• Setting up and clearing down catering areas.

About the role

As a Catering Assistant in Sheffield, you will join Berkeley Scott’s temporary staffing pool, providing support across schools, care homes, and event venues. Your duties will cover basic food preparation, serving customers, and maintaining clean kitchen and dining areas. We offer flexible daytime, evening, or term-time shifts to match your schedule, with weekly pay and regular assignments. The pay rate is competitive and dependent on placement. Immediate starts are available for suitable candidates across the city.
