Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a Catering Assistant for a school in Salford to support lunchtime service and kitchen operations.

You'll work as part of a friendly school catering team, ensuring high standards of food safety, hygiene and customer service for pupils and staff. The role can be temporary, permanent, or temp-to-perm with flexible days to fit your schedule.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in catering, kitchen or school catering environment.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and health and safety procedures.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Reliable, organised and able to work in a busy environment.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude toward working with children and staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food to pupils and staff following food safety standards.
• Support the smooth running of the kitchen and dining areas.
• Follow food preparation, storage and cleaning procedures.
• Maintain high cleanliness and hygiene throughout kitchen and dining areas.
• Assist with stock rotation, deliveries and general kitchen duties.
• Work effectively as part of a wider catering team.
• Promote a welcoming lunchtime environment for pupils.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and serving food to pupils and staff in line with food safety and hygiene standards
