Job description

The café area is an essential part of the offer for young people, and our team of Catering Assistants play a key role by cooking healthy and inspiring dishes for our members, as well as providing a warm and welcoming environment for all. With a free hot meal offered to every young person attending, the café will always be a busy area of the Youth Zone.

Although part of an integrated EMPOWER Team, this role will be based at Salford Youth Zone.

About EMPOWER

EMPOWER is the charity responsible for creating, managing, and sustaining Youth Zones in Manchester and Salford. These include HideOut Youth Zone in Gorton, East Manchester, opened in 2020, and Salford Youth Zone in Pendleton, Salford, opening in Spring 2025.

HideOut and Salford Youth Zones provide safe spaces for children and young people aged 8-19, and up to 25 for those with additional needs, offering activities, support, and someone trusted to talk to.

EMPOWER is part of the national OnSide Youth Zones network, supporting the development of Youth Zones across the country.

Youth Zones are purpose-built, energetic spaces filled with excellent facilities, staffed by skilled Youth Workers committed to helping young people realize their potential, gain skills, confidence, and ambition.
