Job summary

Shaw Healthcare is seeking a Catering Assistant at Victoria House in Rushden. You will join a dedicated catering team supporting residents with home cooked meals and a strong focus on safety and hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Assist chef with food preparation for residents.
• Independently prepare hot meals and sandwiches for residents.
• Load and unload dishwasher; wash items not suitable for dishwasher.
• Clean kitchen and equipment to maintain hygiene.
• Collect and distribute crockery to/from care floors.
• Clear tea trolleys and keep areas tidy.
• Empty kitchen rubbish; maintain clear refuse areas.
• Ensure nutritional needs of residents are met and safe.

Job description

You will work under the direction of the Chef to work together as a Catering Team to ensure that delicious home cooked meals are prepared and services to the Residents Duties Include

• Assist chef with food preparation


• Independently prepare hot meals/sandwiches for residents


• Load and unload dishwasher, wash up equipment unsuitable for dishwasher


• Clean kitchen and equipment


• Collect and distribute crockery from/to the care floors


• Clear tea trolleys where applicable


• Empty kitchen rubbish and keep areas clear of refuse


• Maintain a clean and hygienic environment


• Carry out reasonable requests, as instructed by the Senior Chef/Chef


• Ensure that the nutritional needs of residents are met


• Ensure compliance with the Health & Safety Policy and Regulations
