Job summary

NHS Scotland is seeking a Catering Assistant to join the team at Home Farm Care Home in Portree, Scotland. You will help deliver nutritious meals and refreshments to residents, work as part of the catering team, and support meal service with food preparation and serving.

Responsibilities include ensuring food hygiene and safety standards, operating kitchen equipment safely, assisting with dishwashing and cleaning, and collaborating with care home staff to create a welcoming mealtime environment

Home Farm provides high-quality residential care for older adults and we are looking for a motivated and caring individual to support the delivery of nutritious meals and refreshments for our residents. Working as part of the catering team, you will:

Assist with the preparation and serving of meals, snacks and beverages.

Support the provision of special diets and individual dietary requirements.

Ensure food hygiene, health and safety, and infection prevention standards are maintained.

Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively.

Assist with dishwashing, cleaning and maintaining a hygienic kitchen environment.

Work closely with care home staff to promote a positive dining experience for residents.

Help create a welcoming, person-centred mealtime environment.
