Job summary

Berkeley Scott Recruitment is actively seeking experienced Catering Assistants for school-based roles across the Oxenholme and Lake District area. These positions offer term-time hours and flexible shifts to fit around childcare needs, with weekly pay and ongoing temporary work.

Applicants should have prior Catering Assistant experience, be comfortable in fast-paced school environments, and hold relevant Food Safety and Allergen qualifications or be willing to obtain them.

Qualifications

• Food Safety and Food Allergen qualifications, or willingness to complete them, is essential.
• Enhanced DBS with child barring is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support Chef/Catering Manager and kitchen teams.
• Assist with preparation and service of hot and cold items.
• Assist with food service of children, liaising with teachers and care workers.
• Operate tills and handle payments where required.
• Clear down and close units at end of shifts.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Follow food safety and allergen legislation at all times.
• Ensure service areas remain clean, organised and well stocked.
• Work closely with school staff to deliver an efficient service.

Working with a variety of eduction clients, we have a variety of Catering Assistant roles available across schools in the Oxenholme and surroung Lake District area.

As a Catering Assistant, your duties will include:

• Supporting Chef/Catering Manager and kitchen teams

What We Are Looking For In Our Catering Assistants

• Previous experience working as a Catering Assistant – experience working in education would be advantageous
• Food Safety and Food Allergen qualifications, or willingness to complete them, is essential
• Possession of an Enhanced DBS with child barring or the willingness to obtain one is essential
• Strong communication and organisational skillsli>
