Job Title: Catering Assistant

Are you passionate about food and seeking a rewarding opportunity within a healthcare setting to help some of the most vulnerable people in society?

If so, join The Farndon Unit service for women with mental health and personality disorder diagnoses. You will work 37.5 hours a week with an established and dedicated kitchen team.

Reporting to the Head Chef, you will support the chefs in meal preparation, maintain a clean and safe working environment, and assist with deliveries. This role offers a great social aspect, allowing regular interaction with people outside the kitchen.

Responsibilities:

• Assist catering staff with meal preparation and cooking according to policies and procedures.
• Serve food and beverages to service users, staff, and visitors.
• Maintain storage procedures and stock rotation.
• Ensure all areas, equipment, and furniture are cleaned and stored correctly.
• Ensure the kitchen and related areas meet hygiene standards and comply with policies.
• Liaise with the wider team, including dietitians, regarding dietary and planned meals.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of COSHH and HACCP.
• Experience in a similar role.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.

About The Farndon Unit:

A purpose-built hospital providing low secure, rehabilitation, and acute inpatient services for women with mental health and personality disorder diagnoses. Facilities include en-suite bedrooms, disabled facilities, secure courtyard and garden, patient café, gym, salon, and activity hall.
