Job description

Part Time Catering Assistant, Newark-on-Trent

This role offers an opportunity to work within a healthcare setting supporting vulnerable individuals. You will work 30 hours a week alongside an established kitchen team, assisting with meal preparation, maintaining hygiene standards, and supporting the delivery of food services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with meal preparation and cooking according to policies.
  • Serving food and beverages to service users, staff, and visitors.
  • Managing storage procedures and stock rotation.
  • Cleaning and storing kitchen equipment and furniture properly.
  • Ensuring hygiene standards are met in the kitchen area.
  • Collaborating with dietitians on dietary planning.

Essential requirements:

  • Knowledge of COSHH and HACCP.
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills.

Work location:

The Farndon Unit is a purpose-built hospital providing low secure, rehabilitation, and acute inpatient services for women with mental health and personality disorder diagnoses. The facility includes en-suite bedrooms, disabled facilities, a secure courtyard, patient café, gym, salon, and activity hall.
