Job summary

Iceni Secondary Academy is seeking a dedicated Catering Assistant to support food preparation, light cooking and the smooth running of lunch service. You will also help set up servery counters, maintain kitchen hygiene and work closely with our Catering Manager and SLT.

The role is permanent, 17.5 hours per week during term time (39 weeks a year), with a salary showing NJC Scale Points 3-6. Experience in customer care and IT equipment like tills is advantageous, with commitment to teamwork and

• Relevant experience in food preparation or catering settings is desirable.

17.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday 11:00am to 2:30pm)

39 Weeks per year (term time only)

FTE Salary: £25,614 - £26,847 per annum

Actual Salary: £10,420 - £10,921 per annum

Permanent contract commencing as soon as possible

Iceni Secondary Academy are looking to appoint an individual to assist with the basic preparation of food which may include some cooking and assist with the setting up of servery counters for lunch and general cleaning of the kitchen and associated areas. The successful candidate will join an academy which is dynamic and inspiring; creating a culture of outstanding success amongst our students. To succeed, you will have good timekeeping and the ability to work as part of a team and independently. You will have excellent communication, organisational and customer care skills, the ability to operate IT equipment e.g. tills is essential. We are keen to secure a positive Catering Assistant who can make a telling contribution to our team. The department is part of a well led, mutually supportive Catering team and the appointed candidate will work collaboratively with colleagues and will be supported by a Catering Manager and a strong SLT.
