Kings Hedges Primary School is seeking a Catering Assistant for the school kitchen. The post is permanent and term-time only, with 7.5 hours per week scheduled 11:45am to 1:15pm, Monday to Friday.

The position starts 23 November 2026 and offers DBS checks and safeguarding procedures as part of our high standards of care. We need: A Catering Assistant

To start: 23rd November 2026

Pay Scale: NJC point 3 pay scale, £4,326.36 pa (£25,614 FTE)

Hours: 7.5 per week

Times: 11:45am - 1:15pm Monday - Friday

We wish to appoint a dedicated, hard-working and motivated catering assistant. The contract will be permanent and term time only.

Is able to interact with students in a kind and empathic manner

Can be available for extra hours if required

• Kings Hedges complies the Childcare Act 2006 and the Childcare (Disqualification) and childcare (Early Years Provision Free of Charge) (Extended Entitlement) (Amendment) Regulations 208. All shortlisted candidates whose role will involve the responsibility for the provision or management of such childcare (including teaching) shall be required to declare that they are not disqualified from undertaking such work.
