Job summary

Miquill is recruiting a Catering Assistant to join our school kitchen team in Leek. You’ll be the friendly face serving students and staff, helping with meal preparation using fresh ingredients, and keeping a clean, safe environment.

The role is a fixed-term contract, 22.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with no late nights, and 39 weeks per year aligned to school terms. Training is provided, and DBS disclosure will be required.

Qualifications

• Friendly and versatile personality for a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent customer service skills and interaction with people.
• Previous catering experience is a bonus; training provided.
• Basic knowledge of Health and Safety practices.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 preferred, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a dynamic team to deliver a great dining experience for students and staff.
• Assist with preparing and serving meals.
• Operate tills (full training provided).
• Maintain a sparkling, clean kitchen at all times.
• Adhere to safety guidelines including Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies.

Job Introduction

As a Catering Assistant, you are the friendly face and backbone of our kitchen team! You'll provide fantastic customer service while assisting in the preparation of delicious, nutritious meals of the highest quality, using our fresh ingredients.

Main Responsibilities
