Job summary

Miquill is a specialist school catering business based in the Midlands, now expanding its team in Ipswich. We are seeking a Relief Catering Assistant to support our kitchen and serve meals to students and staff.

You’ll join a friendly team, provide excellent customer service, and help prepare high-quality meals using fresh ingredients across multiple schools in your region. Training is provided to ensure safety and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence to travel between schools.
• Friendly and versatile personality suitable for a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Catering experience is a bonus, but training is provided.
• Basic knowledge of Health and Safety practices.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 preferred, but not essential; full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a dynamic team to create a fun dining experience for students and staff.
• Assist with preparing and serving meals.
• Operate tills (training provided).
• Maintain a sparkling clean kitchen environment at all times.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines, including Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies.

Monday to Friday working - no more weekends!

16 hours working with no late nights.

38 weeks per year based around school term time (more time to spend with friends and family!).

£12.71 per hour

Job Introduction

As a Relief Catering Assistant, you are the friendly face and backbone of our kitchen team! You'll provide fantastic customer service while assisting in the preparation of delicious, nutritious meals of the highest quality, using our fresh ingredients for multiple schools within your region.

Main Responsibilities

Working as part of a dynamic team to create a fun and unique dining experience for students and staff

Assisting with preparing and serving our delicious meals.

Operating Tills (full training provided)

Ensuring a sparkling clean kitchen environment at all times

Strictly adhering to all safety guidelines, including Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policy

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for somebody who shares our passion for maintaining the highest standards of food and service. If you're ready to jump in and make a difference, you'll need:
