Job summary

Grandir UK Limited’s Anerley Day Nursery in Anerley is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to work with our Nursery Chef, providing healthy, nutritious meals for children and supporting daily catering operations.

Hours are Mon-Fri, 10am-3pm (25 hours per week). Salary is £10.85–£12.71 per hour, with regular pay reviews and benefits including generous annual leave, pension, and DBS checks.

Qualifications

• Experience working in nursery or catering environment.
• Ability to work Mon-Fri 10am-3pm.
• Knowledge of food safety and nutrition.
• Good teamwork and communication.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring all production, service and presentation of food is up to standard.
• Carrying out all catering activities in line with the budget.
• Ensuring any comments regarding the catering operation are noted and acted upon immediately.
• Purchasing supplies through the agreed suppliers.
• Ensuring all aspects of the Health & Safety at Work Act are complied with.
• Covering all duties in times of Cooks absence.
• Assisting within the nursery rooms, advised by the Nursery Manager or Cook.

About Our Nursery

At Anerley we have four spacious playrooms, beginning with the soft and cosy Nurturers which is specifically designed for our babies. Adventurers and Explorers house our younger and older toddlers respectively, both filled with stimulating, high-quality resources to spark their curiosity and encourage exploration. Leaders is our preschool room with a focus on school readiness, helping to build children’s confidence and independence as they prepare for the next exciting chapter. We also have a lovely courtyard garden which is divided into three sections, each featuring canopies and shelters, allowing children to enjoy the space year-round.

We provide exceptional Early Years childcare for children from 3 months to 5 years. We offer a fun, energetic and loving environment that nurtures each child’s holistic development.

What will you be doing:
