Job summary

Berkeley Scott in Leicester (LE1) is seeking a School Catering Assistant for a September start. You will join a friendly school kitchen team, helping prepare and serve nutritious meals to students and staff.

The role offers weekly pay and a fixed hourly rate of £12.71–£14.00, with Monday to Friday school-based hours. Enhanced DBS, Food Safety Level 2, and Food Allergen certificates (or willingness to obtain) are required, plus two references.

Qualifications

• Previous catering or hospitality experience is desirable.
• Enhanced DBS Certificate required.
• Food Safety Level 2 Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• Food Allergen Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• Two professional references.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and serving of meals for students and staff.
• Supporting the kitchen team with basic food preparation.
• Washing up and keeping kitchen and dining areas clean and hygienic.
• Replenishing food and drink supplies during service.
• Providing a friendly and professional service to students, staff and visitors.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised kitchen and dining environment.
