Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Catering Assistant at Doncaster Royal Infirmary to deliver reliable, patient-focused meal services. You will work with the catering team to prepare and serve meals, deliver to wards, and take patient orders, while keeping kitchens and equipment clean and compliant with hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Collect and wash crockery, cutlery and service utensils.
• Clean catering equipment using the appropriate materials and methods.
• Use industrial catering equipment safely.
• Decant, label and store food items correctly.
• Record food temperatures and any corrective actions in line with company procedures.
• Rotate stock to maintain quality and minimise waste.
• Support retail catering colleagues when required.
• Complete mandatory training relevant to your role.
• Assist with other reasonable duties in response to the needs of the service.

About the role

As a Catering Assistant with Sodexo atDoncaster Royal Infiramry, you'll play an important part in delivering a reliable and welcoming meal service for patients.Working as part of the catering team, you'll help prepare and serve meals, deliver food to hospital wards and take patients' menu orders. You'll also ensure that equipment, crockery and service areas are kept clean, safe and hygienic.This is a hands‑on role where attention to detail matters. From accommodating dietary requirements to recording food temperatures, your work will help ensure every meal is prepared and served safely and to the required standard.
