Job summary

NHS Scotland is seeking a Catering Assistant based at University Hospital Crosshouse to support our Catering Production & Services Team. You will assist with patient meal service, food preparation, delivery, and wash-up duties, ensuring a safe and clean working environment.

The role focuses on patient lunch service, with require d cleaning of serving areas and trolleys. A Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable, and induction and mandatory training are provided.

Qualifications

• This post is based on patient lunch service and involves serving meals, cleaning and maintaining catering areas.
• Desirable to have a Food Hygiene Certificate or complete within 3 months of start.
• Mandatory and statutory training is required for all candidates.

What You Will Do

You will work as part of the Catering Production & Services Team, assisting in all aspects of food preparation, delivery, service, wash-up cleaning duties relating to the provision of catering services to Patients, Staff, Visitors and for functions

Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required For This Post

This post is predominantly based on our patient lunch service and involves the serving of all patient meals, the cleaning of the serving area/equipment and the cleaning of all patient meal trolleys and trays, crockery etc.

Desirable for current Food Hygiene Certificate, or essential to complete with the first 3 months of employment.

All preferred candidates must attend a Corporate Induction program and undertake Mandatory and Statutory training.
