Job summary

Miquill is hiring a Catering Assistant to be the friendly face of our kitchen team, delivering excellent customer service and helping prepare nutritious meals with fresh ingredients.

Hours are 22.5 per week, Monday to Friday, with no late nights or weekends, and 39 weeks per year around school terms. Training is provided for tills, safety and food hygiene, with opportunities for development through our L&D team.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills and a friendly approach.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 preferred; training provided.
• Experience in catering is a bonus, with training supplied.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals and support kitchen operations for students and staff.
• Assist with meal preparation and food presentation.
• Operate tills with full training provided.
• Maintain a sparkling clean kitchen and comply with safety policies.
• Adhere to Food Hygiene and Health & Safety guidelines.

Job Introduction

As a Catering Assistant, you are the friendly face and backbone of our kitchen team! You'll provide fantastic customer service while assisting in the preparation of delicious, nutritious meals of the highest quality, using our fresh ingredients.

Main Responsibilities

Working as part of a dynamic team to create a fun and unique dining experience for students and staff

Assisting with preparing and serving our delicious meals.

Operating Tills (full training provided)

Ensuring a sparkling clean kitchen environment at all times

Strictly adhering to all safety guidelines, including Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policy

Exceptional Customer Service skills—you love interacting with people!

Previous catering experience is a bonus, but training is provided for the right person!
