Job summary

Mitie Buxton is seeking a part-time Catering Assistant to support dining operations at Harpur Hill, Buxton. The role involves food service, dining area preparation, and daily cleaning to health & safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain dining and service areas, including furniture, trolleys, and cleaning equipment.
• Serve food in correct portions and wash dishes, cutlery, and catering equipment.
• Clean all catering areas daily and follow health and safety standards.
• Handle cash collection, banking, and maintain records and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with customers, managers, and colleagues to deliver excellent service.

Rate of pay: £24,785 per annum

Total Weekly Contractual Hours: 37.5 hours

Location: HSE Buxton, Harpur Hill, Buxton, Derbyshire, England, SK17 9JN

Important: Driving license preferable due to location (unless you reside in Harpur hill or walking distance)

• Previous catering experience in a similar environment (Essential)
• Basic Food Hygiene and Health & Safety certificates (training provided for renewal).
• Adequate numeracy, literacy, and communication skills.
• Passion for customer service and ability to work independently and in a team.
• Adaptable, detail-oriented, and confident with strong organisational and time management skills.
