Job summary

Aspens Services is recruiting a Catering Assistant to support our school kitchen in Brentwood. You will help with basic food preparation and provide smooth service during lunchtimes, working 15 hours per week during term time.

You'll work on-site, on a Monday to Friday school timetable, with training provided. The role offers a supportive team, a friendly environment, and the chance to develop hospitality skills in a busy education setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering or fast-paced service.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 is advantageous; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist in basic food preparation as part of the kitchen team.
• Operate tills during service and support customers.
• Provide friendly, polite service to students and staff.
• Maintain a safe, clean kitchen environment and comply with Health and Safety.

The role

As a Catering Assistant, you will be a vital part of the team, supporting our kitchen in basic food preparation and delivering excellent service that makes the lunchtime rush run smoothly.

You'll be making a real difference through responsibilities that include:

• Customer Interaction: Working on the tills during service (don't worry, full training is provided!).
• Front-Line Service: Providing friendly, polite customer service to all students and staff.
• Essential Support: Assisting the team with basic food preparation.
• Maintaining Standards: Ensuring a safe, clean kitchen environment and meeting Health and Safety compliance.
