Job summary

Aspens Services is seeking a Catering Assistant to join our school kitchen team, supporting basic food preparation and delivering friendly service during the lunchtime rush to ensure meals run smoothly.

You will work Monday to Friday during school term time (16.25 hours per week, 38 weeks per year) at £12.71 per hour. Full training is provided in a supportive, safety‑conscious environment.

Please note: All staff must share our safeguarding commitment and an enhanced DBS disclosure will be sought.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering or fast-paced service environments.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 is preferred but training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Customer Interaction: Working on the tills during service (full training provided).
• Front-Line Service: Providing friendly, polite customer service to all students and staff.
• Essential Support: Assisting the team with basic food preparation
• Maintaining Standards: Ensuring a safe, clean kitchen environment and meeting Health and Safety compliance

The role:
