Job summary

Bradford Girls' Grammar School is seeking a dedicated Catering Assistant to join our busy catering team across Bradford Girls’ Grammar School and Lady Royd Primary School. You will help prepare and serve meals, maintain hygiene, and support safe food handling for pupils and staff.

The ideal candidate will be a reliable team player with good communication skills, a positive work ethic and a commitment to customer service. This is a permanent, term-time role working 15 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals.

Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and organised Catering Assistant to join our dedicated catering team, working across Bradford Girls’ Grammar School and Lady Royd Primary School. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy, customer-focused environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality food and service to children and staff every day.

As a Catering Assistant, you will support the Catering Manager in providing a safe, welcoming and efficient dining experience. Your responsibilities will include preparing and serving nutritious meals, setting up and clearing dining areas, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, washing up, and supporting stock control and record-keeping processes. You will also play an important role in ensuring food safety standards are met and that pupil allergen requirements are followed carefully at all times.

The successful candidate will be a positive team player with good communication skills, a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellent customer service. Previous experience in a catering or kitchen environment is desirable, although we welcome applications from individuals who are willing to learn and develop their skills through training and professional development opportunities.
