Job summary

Suffolk New College is seeking a Catering and Hospitality Assistant (on-site) at the Rural, Otley Campus. The role covers commercial catering support and student services, with 37 hours per week across 36 weeks per year and a starting salary of £25,803 per annum pro rata.

You will assist with basic food preparation, food and drink service, and maintain high levels of food hygiene. An up-to-date Food Hygiene Certificate and readiness to undertake health and safety training are required.

Catering and Hospitality Assistant (on-site)

Starting salary is £25,803 per annum pro rata*

37 hours per week, 36 weeks a year

*£15.59 enhanced rate per hour to incorporate holiday entitlement

Working 37 hours per week for 36 weeks per year this equates to an annual salary of £21,249.60

The role is based at Suffolk New College Rural, Otley Campus, however Suffolk New College is a multi campus site therefore you may be required to work at and travel between campuses.

With experience of working within a commercial catering operation, you will be required to assist with day-to-day activities in our catering areas to support both our commercial operations and our students from Suffolk Centre for Culinary Arts.

As part of the team, your duties will include some basic food preparation, food and drink service whilst maintaining high levels of food hygiene and cleanliness. The successful candidate will need to have an up-to-date Food Hygiene Certificate.

As part of your role, you will contribute to the wider College health and safety activity and therefore you should have a good understanding of health and safety and be prepared to undertake training in these areas e.g., first aid and fire marshall.
