Job summary

Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service is seeking a Category Manager for Works & Services within the Procurement team at Service Headquarters in Bootle. This permanent role offers a Grade 12 salary and a 35-hour week.

You will lead procurement for new build projects, renovations, fire station refurbishments, facilities management and training services, supporting an extensive asset refresh programme and reporting to the Head of Procurement.

Qualifications

• Hold a CIPS qualification at Diploma level or higher.
• Be a self-starter with minimal supervision.
• Commit to the organisation's values: courage, integrity, compassion, flexibility, accountability and initiative.
• Support and develop others within the team.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement portfolio for works and services including new build projects, renovations and fire station refurbishments.
• Oversee facilities management and training services and contribute to an asset refresh programme.
• Report to the Head of Procurement or Procurement Lead NR and ensure delivery within challenging timeframes.
