Your new company
You will be working for one of London's train operating groups, supporting the continuous running of multiple key overground railway lines across the capital. With over 5000 staff and responsibility for over 200 stations, you will be part of a team delivering meaningful rail projects to support communities right across London.
Your new role
As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for building out the first-ever category strategies and driving the implementation moving forward. You will be responsible for a range of categories such as HR, Professional and Legal services. You will be partnering with a wide range of internal stakeholders, showcasing the value of procurement and developing a long-term understanding of business needs, while driving forward commercial value. You will lead large value tenders across these categories, operating outside of large, pre-established frameworks.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to have a strong grasp of either the UCR2016 or Procurement Act 2023 regulations and be comfortable operating within these regulations. Previous experience within the rail industry would be highly advantageous but is not a pre-requisite for this position. You should be an expert communicator who can build strong and meaningful relationships with internal stakeholders, to ensure procurement can add real value to the business. Ideally, you will be MCIPS accredited or working towards this.
What you'll get in return
You will receive a competitive base salary of up to £68,000 p/a, depending on experience and suitability to the role. You will be entitled to 25 days of annual leave p/a, as well as private medical cover for yourself. Alongside this, you will be eligible for the final salary pension scheme, along with a range of free/discounted travel options. What you need to do now
