Job summary

Halfords is seeking a Category Buyer to own a key area of sourcing and procurement, shaping category strategy and supporting profitability. You will build strong supplier relationships across UK and global partners, develop an exceptional product range, and implement pricing frameworks to meet key performance indicators.

Qualifications

• Experience in multi-channel Buying or Category Management.
• Proven track record of delivering procurement benefits and managing supplier relationships.
• Experience in global sourcing and own-brand development.
• Analytical thinker using insights to improve range propositions and purchasing performance.
• Commercially sharp, with strong leadership and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Build long-term relationships with key suppliers to drive collaboration and profitability.
• Deliver sourcing benefits through negotiation and securing promotional support.
• Identify new suppliers and explore alternative markets and buying alliances.
• Regularly assess category performance, monitor KPIs, and apply data-driven insights.
• Develop and deliver ESG initiatives supporting organisational goals.
• Collaborate with eCommerce, Marketing and Supply Chain to execute priorities.
• Coach Assistant Buyers to execute sourcing plans effectively.
• Drive COGS improvements through market analysis, tendering and supplier challenges.
