Job summary

Sodexo is recruiting a Casual Waste Operative for Tutbury. This role supports site operations by collecting and transporting waste streams, and by operating Teletruck and other equipment to keep the facilities running smoothly.

You will conduct safety checks, ensure proper waste segregation, and assist recycling initiatives while maintaining a safe, tidy environment across the site. A current Industrial Teletruck Licence is essential, and prior experience in waste management is desirable.

Qualifications

• Current Industrial Teletruck Licence is essential.
• Experience in waste management, industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, or facilities management is desirable.
• Experience operating Teletrucks, forklifts or other material handling equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Collect and transport a variety of waste streams from across the site.
• Operate a Teletruck, forklift, ride-on sweeper and other waste handling equipment safely.
• Carry out daily safety checks on equipment and report defects.
• Ensure waste is correctly segregated and disposed of per procedures and laws.
• Support recycling initiatives and promote sustainable waste habits.
• Move materials and waste containers around the site using appropriate machinery.
• Clean waste bins, containers and yards to maintain a tidy environment.
• Respond to collection requests and ensure timely service delivery.
• Report hazards or incorrect disposal to maintain a safe site.
