Job summary

SUEZ is seeking a committed plant operator to join our site team in Lancashire. You will operate loading shovels, FLT and tele-handlers, perform safety checks, and help manage waste deliveries while ensuring compliance with site licences.

The role emphasizes teamwork, a safety-first mindset, and flexibility to cover holidays or sickness. Training can be provided for the right candidate with the necessary attitude.

Qualifications

• CPCS/NPORS certification or equivalent; training can be provided.
• Experience operating within a site operations context.
• Willingness to cover holidays and sick days as required.
• Safety conscious with a drive to improve processes.
• Waste industry experience is an advantage but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate loading shovels, FLT and tele-handlers across the site.
• Carry out pre-operational safety and operator checks.
• Perform daily maintenance and checks on mobile and fixed plant.
• Ensure waste deliveries comply with site licences and paperwork.
• Inspect incoming products per Waste Acceptance Criteria; report non‑compliant loads.
• Direct vehicles to disposal areas and assist with off-loading.
• Assist sampling teams with collection of output samples.
• Maintain clean and safe working area; support end-of-shift tidying and downtime tasks.
• Contribute to lean and 5S activities to keep the site organised.
• Work as part of a team and ensure cost-effective operation; follow all health and safety duties.
