Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Ward Assistant at Royal Stoke Hospital in Stoke-on-Trent. This 0-hour contract offers variable shifts between 09:00 and 19:00 across Monday to Sunday, supporting patient meals and experiences with a friendly, professional approach.

You will transport, serve and assist on wards, maintaining food safety, hygiene and accurate daily documentation while working closely with ward teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in patient-facing catering or hospital ward service is preferred.
• Ability to deliver high-quality service with attention to safety and hygiene standards.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with staff and patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide an efficient and professional catering service on wards, communicating effectively with colleagues and ward staff.
• Complete daily documentation accurately and in line with required schedules, procedures and standards.
• Safely transport and deliver food and beverage trolleys to wards, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across ward kitchens, pantries and catering work areas.
• Ensure catering equipment is safe, clean and in good working order, completing routine cleaning and maintenance checks and reporting any issues to the supervisor.
