Job summary

Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust is looking for proactive individuals to join our trading team in the charity’s retail shop. You will welcome visitors warmly, help maximise sales and membership recruitment, and contribute to the shop’s high standards of service and presentation.

Full optics training will be provided and you may assist across visitor services and catering as needed. This casual role offers ad hoc hours with weekend and holiday shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a team.
• Confident using an EPOS till system.
• Creative visuals through merchandising.
• Exceptional customer service skills to engage visitors.

• Serve visitors in the retail shop and support membership recruitment.

Job description

We are looking for proactive individuals to join our trading team. You will provide a warm and informative welcome to all our visitors and will work to maximise sales and membership recruitment. You will have a passion for exceptional customer service, and will contribute to the delivery of agreed targets, helping generate profits that support the conservation work of WWT.

Working mainly in our retail shop area you will be serving both members and non-member visitors, while keeping our shop fully stocked and offering assistance to visitors on optics sales. Full optics training will be provided. You will also be required to work across visitor services and catering departments, depending on the needs of the organisation.

This is a casual position where hours are offered on an ad hoc basis. Candidates will need to be willing to work some weekends, bank holidays and during the school holidays.

About You

The successful candidate will:

• have experience of working in a team.
• be confident using an EPOS till system.
• show your creative side with visual merchandising.
• have exceptional customer service skills to engage with our visitors.
