Job Title: Casual Technician / Dresser

Wage: Council Living wage £10.42 per hour (minimum call 3.5 hours)

Location: Bradford Theatres (Alhambra Theatre, St George’s Concert Hall, and occasionally King’s Hall Winter Garden)

About Bradford Theatres

Bradford Theatres comprises three prestigious venues:

• The Alhambra Theatre: A 1450-seat venue hosting drama, opera, ballet, international dance, West End musicals, and pantomime.
• St George’s Concert Hall: A 1374-seat / 1572-standing venue known for its excellent acoustics, hosting orchestras, rock concerts, children’s shows, and comedy.
• The Studio Theatre: A versatile space for small-scale theatre productions, rehearsals, exhibitions, and meetings.

Job Responsibilities

We are seeking self-motivated and enthusiastic casual Technicians and Dressers to join our busy Technical Department. The roles involve working across all venues, with responsibilities including:

• For Technicians: handling electrical equipment, programming ETC ION desks, focusing, fault finding, and backstage work.
• For Dressers: working in a theatre back-of-house environment, with a focus on stage-related tasks.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of 12-24 months experience in theatre or concert hall environments for Technicians.
• Knowledge or experience in stage work for Dressers, or a willingness to learn and develop skills.
• Ability to work long, unsociable hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
• Ability to perform all duties with reasonable adjustments as per the Equality Act 2010.
