Job summary

Leeds City Council is seeking a dedicated Swimming Teacher to join the Sport & Active Lifestyles Service at Wetherby Leisure Centre. This casual role involves delivering the Leeds learn to swim programme and motivating participants to reach their full potential.

You will be DBS checked and adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, and equality policies while supporting flexible working arrangements, with the opportunity for ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

STA Swim Teacher Qualification (or equivalent e.g. STA Award/Certificate, SEQ L2)
Hold a NRASTC, NPLQ or recognised equivalent
Passion for Aquatics
Strong communication skills

Responsibilities

To engage in the coaching and teaching of Swimming to enable participants to reach their full potential.
To deliver sessions in a professional manner, abiding by the City Council and National Governing Body codes of conduct.
To contribute to a fun and enjoyable experience for all participants.
To undertake administrative tasks in connection with programmes of work (e.g., Class registers, recording progress and achievements).
To carry out duties in compliance with council policies including Equal opportunities, Child protection and Health and Safety.
