Job summary

North Northamptonshire Council is seeking a Learning Support and SEND Practitioner on a casual basis to support learners on the 16-19 Study Programme in Kettering. The role focuses on students at risk of NEET and those with SEND, supporting engagement, confidence and independence.

Hours are variable and primarily during programme delivery days (Mon-Thu). Opportunities may arise to support adult learners within the wider provision. Information conversations can be arranged via email.

Qualifications

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEND in classrooms and learning environments.
• Assist students with tasks, instructions, and accessing learning materials.
• Support students in managing behavior and developing social-emotional skills.
• Provide individualized support, ensuring dignity, respect and confidentiality.
• Assist in using assistive technology and specialist resources.
• Prepare and adapt learning materials for diverse needs and preferences.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and SENCO to implement support plans.
• Communicate progress with students, parents and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support during learning sessions.
• Monitor student progress and adapt support as needed.
• Maintain records of interventions and progress.
