Job summary

Securitas UK Hatfield is seeking a Casual Security Officer to provide security across local sites, maintaining a visible presence and delivering excellent customer service.

You’ll perform patrols, monitor CCTV, manage access, and respond to incidents on a zero-hours contract with day, night and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA licence.
• Flexibility to work days, nights and weekends.
• Right to work in the UK with a 5-year checkable history.
• Basic computer skills.
• Reliable and flexible.
• Strong English written and spoken communication.

Responsibilities

• Carry out internal and external security patrols as detailed in Instructions.
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems; control site access.
• Carry out routine tests of security equipment where appropriate.
• Manage keys and perform locking/unlocking duties.
• Maintain logbooks and records as instructed.
• Issue passes for visitors/contractors and assist staff and visitors.

As a Casual Security Officer, you will provide security support across a variety of sites within the local area, helping to protect people, property and assets. Acting as a visible presence on site, you will deliver excellent customer service while maintaining a safe and secure environment, demonstrating professionalism, vigilance and a proactive approach at all times

As a Casual Security Officer, your key duties will include carrying out internal and external security patrols, monitoring CCTV and alarm systems, controlling access to sites and responding to security incidents as required. You will also assist with traffic and parking management, conduct routine security equipment checks, manage keys and locking procedures, and ensure all records and logbooks are maintained accurately in line with site instructions and company procedures.

Responsibilities

You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

• Prevent and deter unauthorised access to site. Monitor fire alarms, intruder alarms and CCTV as appropriate
• Conduct external and internal security patrols as detailed in the Assignment Instructions
• Carry out routine tests of security equipment where appropriate
• Manage keys and perform locking and unlocking duties as detailed in the Assignment Instructions
• Maintain all logbooks and records as detailed in the Assignment Instructions
• Issue visitor/contractor passes in accordance with the Assignment Instructions
• To provide support, guidance and information to all staff, visitors and contractors whilst ensuring safeguarding of the premises
