Job summary

St Therese's Parish School is seeking a School Learning Officer (Casual) to work with classroom teachers to meet the learning goals of students, including those with diverse learning needs. The role involves direct student support, attendance at meetings, and collaboration with teaching staff to implement plans.

Responsibilities include assisting with evaluations, providing social/emotional support, and maintaining confidentiality. A Working with Children Blue Card is required.

Qualifications

• Assist with evaluating and assessing learning needs under teacher direction.
• Attend meetings with parents/teachers to discuss student progress.
• Work with students according to lesson plans.
• Support students with social/emotional needs and supervise time-out periods.
• Help implement classroom behaviour plans as directed by the teacher.

Responsibilities

• Assist with in-class support programmes as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Report regularly to the classroom teacher on student progress.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Participate in daytime school carnivals as directed by staff.
• Assist with group work in Literacy blocks as directed by the classroom teacher.
