Job summary

Pembrokeshire County Council is inviting applications for a casual Playgroup Assistant at Lamphey Primary School. The post is paid at Salary Grade 3 (£26,427 pro rata) and is based on a casual basis with zero contractual hours.

The role involves working under the Playgroup Leader to support early years education for 2–3 year olds, with emphasis on literacy, numeracy, and welfare. Experience with young children and GCSE-level education are required; CCLD Level 3/NVQ3 is desirable.

Qualifications

• Applicants should have GCSE level literacy and numeracy.
• Previous experience of working with or caring for children aged 2-3 years.

Responsibilities

• Support the Playgroup Leader in managing the playgroup and assist with learning access for all children aged 2-3 years.
• Assist in supervising and caring for children, under direct instruction, to support learning and welfare.
