About Hemsley House Nursery School

Two beautifully converted, large Victorian homes are where you’ll find our Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ Hemsley House Nursery School in Maidstone.

Position: Nursery Chef/Cook

We are looking for a passionate and ambitious Nursery Chef/Cook who will prepare nutritionally balanced, freshly prepared meals and be responsible for the safe and hygienic management of the nursery kitchen.

Responsibilities:

• Provide balanced and nutritional meals for all children, including those with specific dietary needs
• Ensure food safety and hygiene in compliance with Ofsted and the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health standards
• Ensure all children are kept safe and have enriching experiences
• Maintain stock levels and ensure proper stock rotation
• Follow COSHH guidelines and ensure safety procedures are adhered to
• Deputise for the Cook during absences, with the expectation of full-time deputising when required

Candidate Requirements:

• Level 2 Food Hygiene certification
• Minimum of 6 months experience in a similar role
• Understanding of Health and Safety regulations and COSHH
• Alignment with Storal values of responsibility, openness, and teamwork

• Salary: From £10.47 up to £12.47 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
